I started HR Refresh to offer 'refreshingly different' HR Support to businesses with 1 to 300 employees. So, if you’re looking for top-quality HR support delivered in a flexible, affordable and convenient way, we should work together.

I understand how difficult it can be for businesses that have no or limited HR support. The law is complex and confusing. People are unpredictable. Time is limited.

Which is why, in January 2017, I quit my big corporate job and set up HR Refresh.

I’m on a mission to provide top-quality HR support in a flexible, affordable and convenient way.

I do this by working as a part-time HR Director for smaller businesses (from just 4 hours a month), as well as offering PAYG HR advice, and creating valuable content, such as how-to guides, contracts, HR policies, letters and forms etc.

I like to think I offer a ‘refreshingly different’ alternative to ‘traditional’ HR consultancies, where the services are rigid and expensive (with 12-month tie-in clauses) and the solutions can be a bit outdated and ‘old school’.

Why I love HR

I’ve always wanted to work in HR. Ever since I can remember! I was greatly inspired by my Dad, who was a small business owner and had a range of challenges with his team members.

I strongly believe that HR is one of the most underutilised and powerful ways to achieve business success. Employees can strongly influence both customer satisfaction and profit, in both a positive and negative way. HR solutions can significantly influence this, but only if you know how to use it strategically and tactically, yet sadly many HR professionals don’t. My proven methods of success mean I can add a lot of value to your business. Plus, I love changing people’s perceptions of HR for the better.

My Experience

  • During my career, I’ve worked for a variety of companies, in very senior roles. I’ve done pretty much everything from helping hundreds of people be more confident and effective at managing people, solving complex problems like absence, conflict and poor performance as well as identifying how companies can become more profitable (yes really, that’s the role of a HR Director).
  • I’ve led a team of 25 people myself, so I know first-hand how difficult people management can be.
  • I have a Masters in HR Management and a degree in Business Studies, and I’m fellows accredited by the CIPD (which basically means I’ve proven myself as an HR Director).

When I’m not working…

You’ll either find me at a coffee shop with a good book or magazine, at the gym or spending quality time with my friends and family. I’m also a big advocate of flexible working.
